In the fourth of our ‘meet the team’ spotlights we catchup with Sharon Hale who tells us more about her role as a Key Account Executive at Alexander Swan. I have worked in the insurance industry since leaving school, a very long time ago.  I have been with Alexander Swan for over 21 years now! My specialism is Home Buildings and Contents insurance, although over the years I have been involved in many different job roles.


No-one likes a Scrooge, but we think it’s important to stay protected whilst enjoying the festivities.  So we have put together some useful tips to help things stay merry and bright! According to experts, the risk of burglary increases by almost 40% in the run up to Christmas.  One factor is the higher number of homes left empty as people travel to visit family or go on holiday.


In the third series of our ‘meet the team’ spotlight we catchup with Pietro who tells us more about his role as Key Account Executive at Alexander Swan. I have worked in the insurance industry for over 12 years and I joined Alexander Swan in 2021. Since joining Alexander swan I extended my knowledge and branched out into different sectors such as commercial with niche markets like; Window Cleaners using water fed pole systems, Ice Cream Vans, Catering Vehicles and Commercial Liabilities.


In the second series of our ‘meet the team’ spotlight we catchup with Clare Slater who tells us about her longstanding role as Account Executive at Alexander Swan. I was 16 when I began my career in insurance and I have been with Alexander Swan for 19 years.  I mainly deal with our specialist products and services for the window cleaning industry, tradesman, property owners and commercial customers.


If you’re a window cleaner using a water fed pole system, you will be aware of the damage frost can cause to your tank and filters. Protecting your water fed pole system from the freezing temperatures is vital to avoid the hassle and expense frost damage can cause. Ensure you drain the water from the tank, hose, and pump after each use This will prevent the water from freezing and causing irreversible damage to the system.

Nicky Smart answers some quick fire questions about her role as Finance and Account Executive at Alexander Swan. I came to Alexander Swan 20 years ago as a full time Administrator. I have worked in many different areas within the company and now my main focus is finance and accounts. I like the variety in my role, each day is a little bit different.


At the end of last month, Storm Agnes, the first named storm of the season was announced. As we head towards the winter months we take a look at how you can prepare your home or rental property to weather the storm. High winds and hail can cause damage to roofs, fences and external structures. Signs of wind-related problems include loose, cracked or missing roof tiles, damaged chimney pots, cracked brickwork and crumbling mortar.
