Raising Awareness: Safety First
During the show, we had the privilege of meeting the incredibly courageous Jason Knight and his father. Jason suffered a tragic accident when a 33,000-volt shock electrocuted him while using a water-fed pole near a power cable. He lost his arm and sustained severe injuries to his feet and legs. Now Jason is on a mission to raise awareness and help prevent similar incidents by educating window cleaners on how to use water-fed poles safely near power cables. We proudly support Jason’s quest to reinforce the importance of safety standards in the industry.
Ionic Systems ensure their poles meet the safety standards introduced in 2011 for tools that may come into contact with overhead cables. These regulations require that the handle and first sections of water-fed poles are fitted with insulation to protect against electrocution. Alexander Swan Insurance Services has been affiliated with Ionic Systems for over 20 years and we continue to advocate for safety-first approaches in the cleaning industry.
