A History of Supporting the Window Cleaning Sector
Alexander Swan’s specialist knowledge of the window cleaning industry goes beyond insurance advice. Back in 2005, we were already recognised as Water Fed Pole and Window Cleaner Insurance Specialists. At that time, however, there was a major gap in the market — insurers were not providing replacement water fed pole–fitted vans following accidents, fire or theft, and there was no hire option available.
By 2008, the situation had not improved. Rather than accept this limitation for our clients, we took action by investing in our own fully fitted Reach and Wash vans, enabling businesses to continue operating when they otherwise may have had to stop work entirely.
While access to replacement vehicles has improved over the years, it is still not automatic. Recognising how critical these vehicles are to day-to-day operations; Alexander Swan remains the first — and still the only — insurance broker to invest in its own fleet of Reach and Wash–fitted vans. Due to the success of this service, it has grown to support both Alexander Swan clients and non-clients alike, leading to the establishment of A S Vehicle Hire Limited, which has operated independently since 2015.
